If you follow tech news, you know that iOS 7 Beta is now making the rounds to developers and savvy users who upgraded early. You’ll never guess what one developer found when snooping around some folders buried in the latest beta version of iOS 7. Read more to see what’s coming for next gen iPhones.
Apparently, a biometric fingerprint sensor will somehow be incorporated in iOS 7. A developer named Hamza Sood was poking around and found a folder named BiometricKitUI. Contained within the folder is a line of text that describes a “Photo of a person holding an iPhone with their right hand while touching the Home button with their thumb.” Maybe this new technology will be used to unlock your phone, allowing you to scan your fingerprint rather than swiping the screen. It may also be used to authenticate mobile payments or verify your identity for other security purposes – imagine just scanning a finger instead of entering a password or swiping a credit card.
