By now, you’ve seen the former home of fashion designer Gianni Versace. The renown designer owned the property from 1992-1997. If you were unaware, he was murdered in front of the property. Hit the jump for more info.

Around 8:30 p.m. on July 15, 1997, Gianni Versace, 50, had taken a stroll to a favorite restaurant. Returning around 9, he was unlocking the wrought iron gate to his mansion when a stranger walked up behind him and pumped two bullets into the back of his head.

Eight days later, they found his killer’s body in a houseboat in Miami after an apparent suicide.
