I understand Tim Tebow is a nice guy and all, but if after this season there are still questions about his ability to play in the NFL, then maybe it will be time for teams to give up on him. He has a chance at a fresh start with his new team the Patriots, but from the day they signed him, there were questions about why would they do that? You know he is not going to play quarterback at anytime with Tom Brady and Ryan Mallett ahead of him. Even though he is listed as a QB on the position chart, we all pretty much know they are going to try and use him for other parts of the game. Judging by yesterday maybe they already have an idea. Yesterday during training camp, Tebow was actually taking most of his reps with the wide receivers and running backs. Most of the drills he took part in all had to do with those positions. Even Albert Breer, who is covering the Pats seemed confused based on his tweets, which we put in the gallery for you. He tweeted “Tebow just a caught a ball from Mallett in a weird new drill I’ve never seen before”. It does make a little bit of sense to me since I can see Tebow as a tight end/fullback hybrid type of player, but even with that I wouldn’t expect much from him. Pats head coach Bill Belichick is a genius, so maybe he will find the right role for Tebow to be successful in, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. I am sure preseason will be interesting for him.
