Kris Humphries is headed back to the small screen. After appearing on his ex-wife Kim Kardshian’s various E! reality shows in 2011, the Boston Celtic power forward will make a cameo during the second season of FOX’s The Mindy Project, TV Guide reports; this will be the athlete’s first scripted series. Humphries, 28, joins previously announced guest stars James Franco and Adam Pally.
Humphries isn’t the first NBA player to appear on creator and star Mindy Kaling’s hit comedy. In the third episode from the show’s first season, “In the Club,” Amar’e Stoudemire and Danny Granger made cameos — and played wingman for lawyer Josh Daniels (Tommy Dewey). Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Clay Matthews III also guest starred in an episode titled “Sante Fe.”
The Mindy Project returns Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 9:30 p.m. EST on FOX.
