As the key witness in the trial, and partner to “Whitey”,Stephen “The Rifleman” Flemmi took the stand and reflects on the gruesome events that took place in the 1981 murder of a 26 year old woman named Debra Davis. This was not just any woman, the case particularly interesting because the victim was Flemmi’s girlfriend as well. Flemmi was one of Bulger’s right hand men for over 20 years, yet when Bulger found out that Flemmi had let it slip to his girlfriend about their FBI informant, Bulger took it into his own hands, literally. Flemmi had set up his girlfriend, by inviting her to a location and as soon as she walked in Bulger strangled her to death. A member of the jury could handle the detailed testimony, and began crying and staring at the time nervously. The trial is still continuing, causing much awareness with the death of a previous witness who was scheduled to testify but was found dead after. Although the death is still being investigated I guess we can say that this boss still lives by the motto snitches get stitches.
