Two months after the manhunt for the Boston bombing suspects, graphic photos were released to Boston Magazine. Now, sergeant who released the photos is relieved of duty.
The Boston bombing, which was heard around the world, left four people dead and more than 260 people injured on April 15th. On April 19th, a manhunt ended for suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Photos of the bloody suspect were recently released by Sgt. Sean Murphy, who is a tactical photographer for the state police.
Murphy released the photos to Boston Magazine after he became enraged when Tsarnaev was on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine, and Murphy stated his photos depict, “The real Boston bomber, not someone fluffed and buffed for the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine.”
Spokesman for the state police said this about Sgt. Sean Murphy, “He is relieved of duty for one day and will be the subject to an internal investigation.”
