Apple has apparently picked up “Locationary” which is a small Canada based company that deals with local business data and locations. Of course they have not discussed their plans or purpose behind the buy but I guess it’s pretty obvious right? Hit the jump for the full story ..
It is evident that Apple’s motives behind the buy has a lot to do with its own mapping software that didn’t get great reviews when launched on iOS. Locationary works by using a large data exchange platform as well as crowdsourcing to gather its information. Let’s see how Apple put’s this software into use.
