Yesterday, the Brooklyn Nets finally held their press conference welcoming Kevin Garnett, Paul Piece & Jason Terry. The move has created a huge buzz not only in the New York area, but across the country as well. You should have your brain checked if you don’t think the Nets can at least contend for a NBA title, even though I do not think they will make it out of the east. The move from Boston to Brooklyn seems to be the most emotional for Pierce compared to the others. He truly thought he would retire as a Celtic, but that’s why there is a constant reminder that sports is a business first and foremost. Hit the jump to see how he feels about the move.

It is going to look weird to watch when the Nets travel to Boston to play the Celtics and Paul Pierce will be in the black away Nets jersey instead of the white and green. It seems he has thought about it himself too, alot!! Pierce was quoted as saying “I have already pictured it in my head probably about 100,000 times. And every time I picture it, I shed tears.” He also told reporters he took it a little personal when Boston never came out and said they were gonna keep him. He compared what Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said about his star, Dirk Nowitzki, when he came out and said he would never trade Dirk, or how the Lakers have made it known they will never let Kobe retire elsewhere. I am sure that is actually true after the connection he built with the city of Boston, but for Nets fans sake, they better hope he gets over it. Yesterday during the press conference, there were many times that even though he was smiling, he genuinely looked like he did not want to be there and was thinking over and over how did I wind up in Brooklyn. Hopefully he is smart enough to realize this was his best chance to win before he retires soon.
