Is Paul George ready to leave town already? If your a real basketball fan you already knew the boy could ball, but he became a household name across the country during the recent NBA playoffs. He went back and forth with Lebron James, holding his own, and probably had the best dunk of the playoffs when he posterized Birdman, aka Chris Anderson. George is part of next years free agent class which is full of superstar names. From the sounds of it, he might be ready to become an even bigger star somewhere else. Hit the jump.

I am sure currently Paul George is happy to be with the Pacers. After all, they have one of the best teams in the eastern conference and should contend with the Heat and other teams next year to make it to the finals. But George is from the L.A. area, so you know what that means. Next year he becomes a free agent and open admitted that playing with Kobe and the Lakers would be hard to turn down. He was quoted

“My heart is still in Indiana. I’m still a Pacer, and hopefully I remain a Pacer. I’m happy where I’m at.” George said that him hypothetically joining the Lakers would certainly be a “family-favorite team.” “Of course it would be tough to say no to Kobe. You’re talking about playing at home.”

The Lakers have made it no secret next summer they plan to go after Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony. But the odds of the Lakers getting both of those superstars are very slim. However, Paul George would come with a slightly lower price tag and might be a great second addition if they get either Bron’ or Melo. He would be thrilled to play at home in L.A. from the sounds of it and getting to play with Kobe seems like a dream. The Pacers better put in that work. I personally hope he stays. The NBA is better when smaller market teams have their own star players as well to keep things competitive.
