Since the earliest days of Kinect, the motion capture add-on for Xbox 360, sign language recognition has been in the cards. Kinect was the fastest selling consumer electronics device ever, and while most people use it for gaming, a few hardcore Kinect devotees have worked to add American Sign Language recognition to the list of features of the device.
This new feature may help those who communicate primarily with American Sign Language interact with computers or to help out with communication in situations where an interpreter may not be available.
