Mike Miller won’t be letting it fly for the Heat next season as the team released him via the amnesty clause a couple days ago. Well the Heat did pay tribute by thanking him in a full page ad in the South Florida newspapers.

Per the Sun-Sentinel: “By amnesty-release rule, Miller is prohibited from returning to the Heat prior to the 2015 offseason. He currently is in the midst of the amnesty-waiver period, where teams with cap space can bid on the remaining two seasons on his contract. If there are no qualifying bids, Miller would become a free agent Thursday. By releasing Miller, the Heat avoided a $17 million tax payment to the NBA on his 2013-14 contract. Miller, 33, appeared in the NBA Finals in each of his three seasons with the Heat, winning NBA championships the past two. In anticipation of his amnesty release, Miller sold his Hillsboro Beach home two years ago, renting back the home this past season.”
