The Yankees can’t catch a break right now. They have not been playing good baseball recently, and they were hoping the return of their captain Derek Jeter would help turn things around. Instead it might of made the situation worse. Hit the jump for more.

When Jeter is wearing pinstripes, all Yankees fans seem to feel a little more comfortable. The Captain has been out all season, recovering from a broken ankle that took him out of the playoffs last season. In his first game back yesterday against the Royals, he got a hit in his first at bat, and wound up scoring and getting the Yanks going in the right direction. Unfortunately, it came at a cost. Jeter seemed to hurt his quad while running and a x-ray showed a strain on the muscle. So now instead of a triumphant comeback to help the Yankees start winning some games, he is not out again, until at least after the all-star break. I am sure all fans are hoping it is only for that short period of time.
