After recently releasing a George Zimmerman diss to touch on the controversial Trayvon Martin Trial, ATL rapper Lil Scrappy does not plan on apologizing (nor should he). Check out what Scrappy had to say about throwing serious shade at Trayvon’s Killer after the jump.
According to Love & Hip Hop’s own Lil Scrappy, he feels as if artists are not taking a stand on the Trayvon Martin/ George Zimmerman trial. Scrappy says, “I did this song because it doesn’t seem like anyone is stepping up to stand up against this racism. I have had a lot of time lately to read and think. If no one stands up we all are gonna fall.”
Some of the lyrics in ‘Trayvon Martin’ include: “Can’t just kill a motherf*^ker for no reason and get away with it short.I’m sick and I’m nauseous, this is obnoxious — we were reaching for freedom, now we’re seeking out justice/Then they get away with it/Like they paid off the judges/Mama and dad cried, sad that their son died/It’s killers on TV, telling these foolish lies” (Trayvon Martin)
Let us all hope that Trayvon’s family gets the justice they deserve! Props to Scrappy for bringing this issue up for the Hip-Hop community to listen to.
