While on assignment for Egypt’s Al-Horia Wa Al-Adala newspaper, Ahmed Samir Assem was filming a Muslim Brotherhood demonstration outside the army’s Republican Guard officers’ club Monday when gunfire began from over the wall.
A report from Telegraph stated that “Assem’s camera focuses in and out on a lone soldier repeatedly firing over the wall for 29 seconds when suddenly the gunman turns his weapon on him.” From that point, the video ends.
