After Dwight Howard officially made his decision to sign with the Houston Rockets, Kobe Bryant posted a loving picture with Pau Gasol with the caption “#vamos #juntos #lakercorazon #vino” which means “let’s go together, Lakers heart.” Well together they’ll stay as the Lakers will now keep Pau Gasol but will they keep Metta World Peace?

The Los Angeles Lakers have lost Dwight Howard, which means there is no chance they will amnesty Pau Gasol, reports Ramona Shelburne of ESPNLosAngeles.com.
There had been some speculation Gasol might be cut to reduce a massive tax bill if Howard had re-signed, but that is now off the table. Gasol will make $19.28 million next season and he becomes a free agent in 2014.
The only other players who are eligible to be amnestied are Kobe Bryant, Steve Blake and Metta World Peace. There is a chance the Lakers could amnesty MWP, but their roster is so thin they will likely keep him. World Peace might begin the season as the starting power forward.
