It´s been two days since President Morsi has been ousted by the Egyptian Army and the situation is really taking a turn for the worst. ¨Egyptian troops opened fire on mostly Islamist protesters marching on a Republican Guard headquarters Friday to demand the restoration of ousted President Mohammed Morsi, leaving at least one severely wounded.¨ Hit the jump for more details.
As protests become more and more prevalent the Egyptian Army is not playing. They tore down a pro Morsi sign protesters had placed on the barb wire near the Republican Guard Headquarters. They also warned protesters to stay back. Not heeding the warning protesters hung up a second sign and the soldiers made them pay opening fire into the crowd. The protesters responded by hurling rocks at the soldiers which the soldiers answered to with tear gas.
The situation in Egypt risks getting uglier in Egypt as more protests are expected demanded the return of Egypt´s ousted democratically elected leader.
Let´s pray for a quick return to a civilian government in Egypt and peace in the region.
