Pope John Paul II has been cleared for Sainthood by Pope Francis. Techincally a Saint needs to miracles in their lifetime, but Pope Francis has cleared one.The Vatican has yet to clear Pope John Paul II for his second miracle during his intercession but said that Francis has enough power to declare John Paul a Saint without one. Along with John Paul II, John XXIII is also going to be canonized. John XXIII is said to be the one who brought the Catholic Church into the modern world. So far, the canonization is expected by the end of the year but there is no word to exactly when. The Polish media is pushing for the celebration to be in October to mark the 35th anniversary of John Paul’s election. Read about John Paul’s miracle below.
On the day of John Paul’s beatification, a woman in Costa Rica is said to have been cured of a cerebral aneurism. Floribeth Mora woke up in extreme pain and was sent to the hospital in April with only one month to live. Before his beatification, Mora’s family prayed to John Paul and on May 1, 2011 she was cured.
