As the trial seeking justice for the murder of Trayvon Martin continues, Sybrina Fulton, Martin´s mother and Jahvaris Fulton, Martin´s brother took the stand testifying that the screams for help captured on audio of a 911 call came from their loved one. Hit the jump for more details.
The importance of whose voice it is on the 911 call is instrumental to the case because it would help prove who was the aggressor in the scuffle that left the 17 year old Trayvon Martin dead.
After the audio was played, prosecutor Bernie de la Rionda asked Sybrina Fulton, “Who do you recognize that to be?” She replied, “Trayvon Benjamin Martin.” Martin´s brother replied with the same answer when asked that question.
During cross examination Trayvon´s brother was questioned on why did he initially make a statement to a reporter that he wasn’t sure if the voice belonged to Martin. Jahvaris Fulton responded to that saying that he was shocked when he first heard the audio. He continued with, “I didn’t want to believe it was him.”
Before testifying, Sybrina Fulton posted on Twitter “I pray that God gives me the strength to properly represent my Angel Trayvon.”
Its hard to watch this case. Emotions are running high and nobody should be in the position of Trayvon Martin´s mother and father. Let´s pray for justice.
