Douglas Engelbart, who was 88, passed away yesterday from acute kidney failure. He was credited for inventing the computer mouse as well as being an early computer and internet pioneer. He patented the mouse in 1967 and years later licensed his invention to Apple for $40,000 in 1986. He has earned several awards over the course of his life for his achievements.
