Have you heard of a man named Scott Boras?! Some may not be familiar with him, but he is the owner and president of the Boras Corporation – a sports agency. He reps a lot of big names such as Prince Fielder, Matt Holliday, Alex Rodriguez & more. He also lost Robinson Cano … to Jay-Z.
Well not only did Hov swoop in and take Cano, but now he’s rapping about it in his new track, “Crown.” Jay released the lyrics to the song yesterday and called out Scott Boras. Y’all gon’ learn today! Check it out…
Via FoxSports:
Jay-Z takes a direct shot at Boras, the baseball super-agent who represented Cano prior to Roc Nation Sports:
“Scott Boris (sic), you over, baby/Robinson Cano, you coming with me.”
In the same song, Jay-Z raps, “These [redacted] are like rotary phones/ It’s a new day, hit up KD.” KD, of course, is a reference to Durant, the NBA superstar who recently left longtime agent Rob Pelinka for Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports.
….
In a later interview, Boras told the New York Post: “For [Cano] to make such immediate changes means a lot was said to him, a lot was promised and a player sometimes needs time to understand situations when a great amount of new information comes his way.”
This rivalry could be just getting started.
