The Governor has directed the DMV as of TODAY for tougher penalties to be enforced to all those caught texting and driving especially young and new drivers. This means more checkpoints and troopers patrolling the roads even more so now since it is summer time. Under the Governor’s order DMV will be increasing the number of points earned to an individual caught texting and driving in addition to any other cellphone related convictions, this will cost you anywhere from 3-5 points on your license! And for all you new/young drivers out there your license will get suspended for 60 days for anything from speeding, reckless driving, tailgating another vehicle, etc. So drive safely and responsibly everyone NYC is NOT playing around!
