After firing long with his approach shot on the 12th hole at Congressional, the 26-year-old South Korean, apparently reacting to a fan in the gallery, flashed his middle finger toward the crowd.

The gesture was caught by CBS’ cameras and later replayed during the telecast.

Lee had a bogey on the hole, one of several missteps throughout his third round.

He began the day in a tie for fourth, two shots off the lead, and made the turn at even-par 36. But things quickly unraveled on the back nine, as Lee took a double-bogey 5 on the 10th hole, the bogey on the 12th and bogeys on Nos. 15 and 18.

He finished with a 4-over 75, dropping him into a tie for 20th at 1-under 212. James Driscoll, Bill Haas, Roberto Castro and Andres Romero share the lead at 7 under.
