In honor of their 20th anniversary, T-Boz and Chili decided to re-record their hit “Waterfalls.” Instead of omitting Left Eye totally or at least keeping her old recording, the ladies decided to replace her. Japanese singer, Namie Amuro, took the place of Left Eye in the re-release and now the Lopes family is NOT happy.
I literally just listened to the re-recorded track and I personally think Amuro sounds awful and TLC should have just left Left Eye’s verse in to honor her. Read what Lisa’s sister said about the situation below.
RIP, Left Eye!
Reigndrop Lopes said that what bothered her family the most was that they weren’t informed of T-Boz and Chili’s decision to replace Lisa on the recording. She said that her mother is really shocked and hurt over the whole incident telling TMZ, “I did not know about it until a fan posted it online. I mean it would have been nice if they would have given us a head up before being surprised.”
