Yesterday, chef Paula Deen released two “apologies” for using the n-word and wanting black people to dress like slaves for a party she was hosting. The apologizes didn’t seem very heartfelt, one of them was clearly chopped and edited causing Deen to release another one. Shortly after the release of the videos, it was announced that the Food Network decided to give her the boot. According to reports, the usage of the n-word was an issue for the network but not completely the deciding factor. Read what was below.
Paula Deen cancelled an appearance on the “Today Show” for a Matt Lauer interview before releasing the botched videos. The Food Network were on the line of letting Deen go and wanted to see how well or terribly she handled the apology and when it was botched up, they dropped her. Paula’s son, Bobby Deen, also has a show on the network but he has not been axed.
