Before the unsuccessful attempt to kill herself, a Colorado mother murdered her 9-year-old son. She confessed to shooting at her son five times and killing him while he was sleeping. Find out more about this disturbing story after the jump.

It’s so sad to see innocent lives taken away. Lisa Lesyshen had problems of her own with the separation of her and her husband, but why did she have to bring her 9-year-old son into it? Lisa shot and killed her son with a .22 caliber gun, and then went into a room upstairs to take her own life. When Steamboat Springs law enforcement arrived, 9-year-old (Asher) was pronounced dead, and his mother was unconscious due to a single gun shot wound. Lesyshen reportedly bought the gun two days before this tragic event occurred.

While in a hospital bed, Lisa Lesyshen admitted to killing her 9-year-old son to sheriffs Sgt. Kurtis Luster. She will be charged accordingly.
