Man, I can’t wait for the NFL season. Why does it have to take so long to come back around each year?? Anyway, it is only June, but that hasn’t stopped some players from running their mouths already. Each year the NFL Network comes out with the “100 best players list”, which is voted by actual NFL players. It starts arguments between friends and sports analyst every year, and also gets players talking. Richard Sherman of the Seahawks and Roddy White of the Falcons already have somewhat of a history between them. When this years list came out if gave them another chance to talk about each other. Richard Sherman is a pretty good NFL cornerback, but he does need to relax with his mouth sometimes. He hasn’t elevated his game that high yet. He told NFL network that he didn’t think Roddy White should of been on the top 100 list at all. White was voted to the number 39 spot, while Sherman was only #50. When White had his chance to talk, he went in on Sherman himself.
I’m not going to come out and say he shouldn’t be a Top 100 player because he should be a Top 100 player, but he talks too much,” White said. “He has talked himself into a place where he has to play some really good football this year. I have no problem when he says I’m not that good or I can’t do this or I can’t do that. But I know the rest of the players in this league know what I can do, and that’s why I’m higher on this list than he is.”
White wasn’t done with Sherman yet :
He’s a front-runner,” White said. “When things are going good, he’s all good. When things ain’t going his way, he has nothing to say — that’s just how he is. You let him talk in the offseason because that’s what he likes to do. You let guys like that talk, but at some point when September rolls around, you got to come play football.”
I do think White deserved to be ranked ahead of Sherman. The good thing about wide receivers and cornerbacks is they get to go head to head when they play each other. I can’t wait for the season.
