Is anyone really surprised? I really don’t want to hear anyone try and tell me Tebow is a quality NFL quarterback, even as a backup. Is he a great athlete? Yes he is, but a quarterback? NO!! It looks like Tebow himself may of finally seen reality and according to people close to him he has admitted he is probably done as a player in the NFL. See what he said after the jump.

Since being cut from the Jets a couple months ago, Tebow has gotten zero interest from any team in the NFL. That right there should of been a sign. In an upcoming issue of ESPN the Magazine, which will be released on June 10th, Tebow’s camp privately admits that his time in the NFL has come to an end. ESPN in my opinion played a very personal role in the way Tebow has been portrayed. With their over the top journalism and ratings driven tactics, they turned the entire country into either Tebow supporters or haters. They made fans hate Tebow for no other reason than hearing his name and seeing way too much coverage of an average at best NFL player. They also in turn made other teams hesitant to even bring Tebow in for a tryout because teams just did not want the headache that came with having him around. All those things are not his fault, but he has nobody else to blame for his lack of talent at the position. He never improved as a quarterback from college where he was a superstar, into the NFL. A highly respected NFC scout spoke on Tebow for the article and what he said was dead on.

“He’s not a quarterback. When you look at his run two years ago, when you watch the tape and break it down, he wasn’t really doing anything that impressive. He’s a tough guy, a great leader, a great person. But he isn’t a good enough quarterback to have all the distractions that come with him.”

When Tebow made his run with the Broncos, people got so caught up in what happened, that alot of fans didn’t pay attention to what was really going on. The Broncos defense played huge during that run. Tebow himself continued to play terribly, except he would make a couple plays late in the game and all a sudden everyone forgot how bad he was all game long. Over the last 5 games with Denver he also went 1-4, with the lone win coming in that playoff game against the Steelers. Broncos & Jets coaching staff, as well as players didn’t like to speak negatively on him because he seems like such a good guy, but they repeatedly said Tebow would forget plays and couldn’t read a defense to save his life. That would explain so many of those delay of game penalties he had with Denver. The issue comes out June 10th and I can’t wait to see more of the article.
