Kevin Durant took a break from helping out all those affected in Oklahoma by the tornado’s recently to get back to what he does best, BALL! He showed up unannounced at Dematha High School in D.C. to play ball with some of the local players. He did not go to that high school, but Durant is from the D.C. area. Mike Jones, the head coach at Dematha told the Washington Post “I didn’t know he was coming, but for somebody like me, it’s nice to get to watch talent like that play in our gym. I just have to turn on the lights and roll out the ball,” Jones said. “Of course, when a guy like Kevin comes, everyone is excited. They all played hard, talked some trash and it was a high-level pickup game.” The school actually locked the doors once he arrived to avoid a rush of people hearing about it and trying to show up. I love when NBA players do stuff like this. Just show up anywhere and play. A couple years ago KD showed up in Harlem at a Rucker park and dropped 66 in one game and left the crowd begging for more. Check out the video after the jump of KD pulling up on an over matched defender.
