After being clean for 23 years, actor Philip Seymour Hoffman had a serious relapse. Hoffman checked into a rehab after relapsing so bad that he began to use heroin. The actor began abusing prescription medication about a year ago before turning to heroin. Hoffman says that only one week following his heroin usage, he checked himself into a detox and rehab center. The Oscar winner was in the rehab center for 10 days before checking himself out. Hoffman has already begun shooting a movie in Europe and has thus far remained clean. He said that it was “a great group of friends and family” that made him release that he needed the treatment. Thankfully he was able to realize he needed help before really spiraling out of control.
