IFWT_Adam Jones banned shoes

Sports and kicks just go together don’t they?!  Don’t they?!  Nope, not all the time.  The MLB, NFL, NBA, etc. all have rules about shoes and uniforms.  Orioles outfielder Adam Jones shared a picture on Instagram about his shoes being banned by the MLB.  Find out why & the picture after the jump…

Via USAToday:

Orioles outfielder Adam Jones is looking for a new home for his cleats.

According to Jones, the MLB has banned him from wearing the cleats in the photo  in games. The MLB uniform policy is pretty strict:

Official Baseball Rules Page 7

1.11 (1, a) No player whose uniform does not conform to that of his teammates shall be
permitted to participate in a game

1.11 (g) No player shall attach anything to the heel or toe of his shoe other than the ordinary

shoe plate or toe plate. Shoes with pointed spikes similar to golf or track shoes shall
not be worn.

By the book, Jones’ Baltimore flavored camo-cleats, no matter how fresh they might be, are not in accordance with the rules. Once again, fashion loses out to the man.
