Jets running back Michael Goodson, who was just signed this off season, already has put his playing time in jeopardy. TMZ reported that early this morning, Goodson was in an SUV with a friend and they were parked on the shoulder of Interstate 80. When Police approached the SUV, it was obvious both men were completely wasted in their opinion. Goodson was a passenger, so the fact he was drunk is not an issue, but the 45 caliber hand gun and almost 2 ounces of weed he had is a problem. Read more after the jump.

The gun and weed were bad enough, but Goodson was also found with hollow tip bullets, which are meant to cause as much damage as possible to a target. In the state of New Jersey, even if you have a permit for your weapon, those types of bullets are illegal to have in public in most cases. According to Police, both men were so drunk, that instead of arresting them on the spot, they first took them to a hospital for treatment. At least the one good thing from this story is the driver realized how drunk he was and thats why they were pulled over on the side of the highway parked, (I hope, maybe I am giving them too much credit). Goodson was expected to compete for the starting running back job this upcoming season. He only has 3 career touchdowns, but with the Jets depleted roster, any help could be good help. We shall see how the Jets handle this with Goodson.
