Last night Candice Glover was crowned as the winner of this season’s “American Idol.” Having tried out for “Idol” two times previously to get accepted, Candice was clearly in shock when Ryan Seacrest read her name as the winner, so much so that even in an after show statement, she was still at a loss for words. Nicki Minaj was a huge fan of Candice and so was Drake, who surprised the then contestant after she sang his “Find Your Love.” Not only did Candice get co-signed by Nicki and Drake, but she also performed with Jennifer Hudson and Aretha Franklin. She might be the next winner to actually make a name for herself!

23-year-old Candice said, “I’m still trying to process the whole thing. Like, I don’t even know my name. I don’t know what’s happening. It feels amazing, though. I finally got to this point. I’ve been working for so long. I remember at one point saying, ‘American Idol obviously doesn’t want me, so why would I go back?’ I found myself on the website looking at auditions again and just being determined. I just couldn’t stay away because I knew that if I kept trying, it would happen.”
