Yikes. Nothing really shocks me anymore, I just don’t understand why people do the things they do. NFL players Brandon Marshall, Chris Johnson & Mike Sims-Walker are caught up in a crazy situation.
Check out report after the jump…
Via ProFootballZone:
According to the Orlando Sentinel, a house that was linked to the shooting of a 15 year-old girl is owned by NFL player’s Mike Sims-Walker, Brandon Marshall and Chris Johnson.
Sims-Walker helped aid the police in their investigation, per the Sentinel.
Prosecutors have described the home on Robbins Avenue as a nondescript setting where pro athletes could hang out and bring women while visiting Orlando — away from the view of the media.
Gunfire erupted after a burglary there July 29, and a stray bullet struck Danielle Sampson as she rode in her parents’ minivan, rendering the Apopka High athlete severely brain-damaged.
The good news is that none of the players were linked to the murder. It’s just a place for them to go to where they can sleep with other women outside of the relationships they have with their wives or girlfriends.
The football players were not suspected of any crime or involvement in the burglary or shooting. Indeed, video evidence shows Sims-Walker was helpful to the Sheriff’s Office.
However, investigative documents show deputies considered the house’s NFL connections a possible motive for the burglary and also fielded reports that high-quantity drug deals were transacted there.
In her opening statement in the trial of Tyrone Mosby — the gang member charged with attempted murder in Danielle’s wounding — prosecutor Nicole Pegues described the Robbins Avenue home as a place NFL pros go “if they want to step out on their girlfriends and their wives … outside of anywhere else where media might catch them.”
Mosby was convicted in March. However, his public defender Michelle Yard has asked for a new trial, citing evidence jurors in the initial trial never saw.
After the shooting trial, the new evidence was turned over to the defense by Florida’s Office of Statewide Prosecution, which is prosecuting Mosby and others in a gang-related racketeering case.
In a newly available videotaped interview of the state’s key witness in the shooting, Chester “Chad” Joseph, three current or former NFL players are named: Sims-Walker,Chicago Bears receiver Brandon Marshall and Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson.
The three are friends who have Central Florida ties: They all went to local high schools, and Sims-Walker and Marshall played together at UCF.
Well, it looks like the secret house is no longer a secret for Johnson, Marshall and Sims-Walker.
