Adam “MCA” Yauch, one third of the Beastie Boys now has a Brooklyn park named after him. This morning, the New York City Department of Parks held a ceremony officially changing the name of Brooklyn Heights ‘Palmetto Playground’ to Adam Yauch Park. Brooklyn Borough president Marty Markovitz was joined by fellow Beastie Boy members Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz and Michael “Mike D” Diamond at the ceremony. Yauch passed away on May 4, 2012 at the age of 47 after a long battle with throat cancer. During the ceremony, Ad-Rock remembered his fallen friend. Hit the gallery up top for Photos!
