Whoa, this is crazy! Anytime family members take each other to court it’s sad and also emotional. But when there is alot of money involved, you can bet things will be ugly. Earlier this week, we did a story about Kobe’s mom auctioning off numerous items from her famous son including signed jerseys, balls, pictures, letters, etc. You can read about that story HERE. It seemed a little strange at the time that his mother would do that, wouldn’t she want to keep it for herself? It’s not like she needs money with Kobe Bryant as her son. Turns out there is much more to the story. He is now suing his mother and blocking the auction that was set to happen. Read more after the jump.

Kobe is steaming mad with his mother. I do not know the extent of the relationship he has with his mother, so I will not comment on that, but at the moment it definitely seems like a tense situation. Kobe sent a cease and desist letter to the auction company, Goldin auctions. He advised them he is the rightful owner of all the possessions his mother gave to them, and they do not have the legal right to auction them off. Goldin has turned around and filed a lawsuit against Kobe, saying the auction house gave Pamela a $450,000 advance, which she says will be used immediately to buy a new home. According to the lawsuit, Pamela told the auction house Kobe gave her all the stuff outright 5 years ago. So now somehow, Kobe is a defendant in a lawsuit for possessions that are his! The fact the auction company paid his mom $450,000 already is not his problem. A judge has yet to rule, but if all this is true, then this was a pretty shady move by his mom.
