The North Carolina A&T University campus has been shut down after a man was spotted carrying a rifle. Middle College at A&T and The STEM Early College at NC A&T are also shut down. The university has announced that no shots have been fired. Everyone on campus was advised to lock their doors, windows, and stay inside. The man is about 5’11” and is wearing blue jeans, hat, and jacket with a white tee shirt. We will have more on the situation as it develops.
UPDATE: The lockdown as been lifted as of 12:22 pm.Normal activities have commenced but classes are not set to begin until 2pm.

The campus is on lock down. Just to confirm, the University Police Department received a report of an unknown black male with a weapon in the area of the General Classroom Building. No shots have been fired. The unknown suspect is approximately 5’11” wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans, blue cap and white t- shirt. The University Police Department is conducting a campus-wide search. We will provide updates as they become available.
