Earlier this morning, MTV made the decision to pull the plug on their reality show Buckwild, just 8 days after the death of one of the show’s stars, Shain Gandee. Now they’ve followed up with an official statement, explaining their full reasoning and what to expect moving forward. See what they said below.
“Given Shain’s tragic passing and essential presence on the show, we felt it was not appropriate to continue without him,” a rep said in a statement. “Instead, we are working on a meaningful way to pay tribute to his memory on our air and privately.”
This weekend, MTV will have a “day of programming dedicated to Shain in which we will air the entire first season of Buckwild.”
