It was a historic night on Saturday as Kobe Bryant passed the legendary Wilt Chamberlain on the all-time scoring list. He entered the game needing only five points to make the leap and he did it on a classic Kobe pull-up jumper. Read more after the jump.
The night began slow for Kobe as he went scoreless throughout the first quarter but by the second quarter he caught fire and took over. He finished with a near triple-double putting up 19 points, 14 assists and 9 rebounds in the Lakers 103-98 win over the Sacramento Kings.
Bryant has now passed Chamberlain who sits at fifth on the list with 31,419 career points. Next up Kobe will try to pass Michael Jordan who sits at third with 32,292. We all know how hard he’ll play to try and beat that. Sitting at second is Karl Malone (36,928) and first on the list is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387).
