Atlanta Public School Superintendent Beverly Hall and many others have been indicated in what is now the largest cheating scandal in U.S. history. Hall and 34 of her conspires have been accused of cheating for about four years. Hall and company victimized thousands of students from 2005 to 2010. Those involved in the cheating scandal are said to have cheated on federally mandated standardized for their own gain. Hall pushed to achieve high test scores by any means and “created an environment where achieving the desired end result was more important than the students’ education.” Because nobody but those active in the scandal knew what was going on at the time, Hall was named national superintendent of the year in 2009 after it seemed that she found what was needed “to get strong performances from poor, mostly minority students in decaying urban schools.”
