Pepsi Co. is responsible for some of America’s favorite consumer items, from frito-lay chips, to tropicana orange juice, to it’s name sake Pepsi cola. More than likely you have a Pepsi product in your fridge or cupboard, but the engineers at Pepsi have a new way for consumers to enjoy some of their more popular products. Starting in April Pepsi plans to launch a new 20 and 16 ounce bottle, with a grooved ergonomic lower half and minimized brand packaging so more of the beverage is shown. The new bottle is the first bottle change since 1996 as the engineers at Pepsi look to turn around the 4 percent decline in the carbonated beverage market, and a 3 percent decline in non carbonated sof drinks. With the new bottle shape debuting in the New York Region, and expanding from there, we can expect the new bottles to completely replace the old bottles in a year or two. The engineers must go from plant to plant changing the lines to the newer model. Check out the bottle shape in the gallery.
