Harvard made history last night in more ways than one. The school that you think of when you picture doctors, judges, politicians, is now producing some quality basketball as well. Harvard won their first game ever in the history of the NCAA tournament last night, and they did it in dramatic fashion by upsetting highly ranked University of New Mexico 68-62 in the second round. New Mexico was the #3 seed in the bracket, while Harvard was seeded #14. It is an amazing feat for Harvard considering the 2 best players on the team were dismissed before the season started for an academic fraud situation. Many people had New Mexico making a very deep run in the tournament, but the smart kids at Harvard had something to say about it. They held New Mexico to one of their lowest shooting performances of the season, while hitting more than half of their shots themselves. These type of games are what the NCAA tournament is all about.
