For a team that didn’t need much help as it is, things just got even better for the Atlanta Falcons. Yesterday they signed former St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson. The deal is worth $12 million for 3 years. The Falcons made the NFC championship game this past season before losing to the 49ers, which should have teams in the NFC worried because this team didn’t need much, and now they landed the best running back available. Jackson leads all active players in career rushing yards, and is still a threat to lead the league in rushing. I know he is super happy today after being part of a bad organization his entire career. Jackson is a big upgrade compared to Michael Turner, who Atlanta had this past season. With the recent re-signing of Tony Gonzalez for one more year, it looks like the Falcons are trying to go for it all.
