A plea has been entered in the case of Dark Knight shooter James Holmes, but he didn’t do it himself. A judge entered his “not guilty” plea for him, despite the fact that his lawyers said they needed more time to respond to the charges that he murdered 12 people and tried to kill 70 others.
This leaves room for Holmes to change his plea later to not guilty by reason of insanity. We’ll find out on April 1st whether or not prosecutors will seek the death penalty, with the trial scheduled to start August 5th.
