Doesn’t matter if you are a wealthy NBA franchise with access to unlimited funds. If the airplane you are on wants to scare the life out of you, it is going to do it regardless. Well the Chicago Bulls players and coaches got the scare of their life this week and of all the people to help them out was Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. Read more about it after the jump.

After moving down the runway leaving Chicago heading for Indiana and a game with the Pacers, Bulls players watched in panic as one of the engines on the team plane exploded, sending sparks out of the engine for the players to look at. I am sure players wondered why aren’t we stopping as the plane lifted off into the air anyway. A few short moment later, BOOM! Another engine fails and explodes, sending more sparks trailing behind the plane. At that point the captain decided he better turn his ass around and get back to the airport, which he did without further incident. Stuck without a plane for a few days to get around the country, Cuban stepped in and let the bulls use his plane for a couple days. What a nice guy. I wonder if the Bulls had to play the Mavs during those couple of days would he have let them use his private plane. Either way I am sure the players appreciated having a working plane that didn’t have them thinking they were about to die in a plane crash.
