LeBron James and Upper Deck have teamed up to further support the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy, that took place in Newtown, CT last December. Just a day after the mass shooting, LeBron and the Miami Heat played against the Washington Wizards, where he wore a personalized version of his Nike LeBron Xs to show support to the victims and their families. The White/Navy-Red Nike LeBron Xs were customized by King James himself using a Sharpie with the words “NEWTOWN, CT” written on them in various places. The game was touching to everyone in the American Airlines Arena that night, especially for LeBron and his teammates as they brought their children onto the court for a moment of silence during the pregame introduction. LeBron showed that he was greatly affected by the tragedy then, and almost 3 months later he still feels the need to take action and help. So, with the help of Upper Deck LeBron will be auctioning off his personalized LeBron Xs next month with his autograph on one shoe, and added words “VS. Wizards 12/15/12 Never Forget!!” on the other. All of the proceeds from the auction will go directly to those victims of the Newtown tragedy through the LeBron James Family Foundation. Check out pics of the sneakers after the jump…
