The life of a celebrity is never all glitz and glamor, as we saw with the tragic downfall of the legendary Whitney Houston. In newly released FBI documents, we find out that it was actually worse than we thought behind the scenes, with blackmail and extortion plots running rampant in her fanmail. Details below.
The 128-page document can be read here, and was released in answer to Freedom of Information Act requests and spans from 1988 to 1992.
One fan sent nearly 70 letters with scary messages, like, “I might hurt someone with some crazy idea and not realize how stupid an idea it was until after it was done.”
Another was from a woman that said unless Whitney paid $100,000, “certain details” of her “private life” would be revealed. Whitney’s father allegedly paid her off.
So sad. RIP, Whitney!
