As of last night there’s been a lot of talks of the possibility of the Jets signing free-agent QB Brady Quinn. What?! I know I’ve said this before, but thank goodness I’m a Giants fan. Lol. Some people like him and some … not so much. So Jets fans – what do you think? Would you rather keep Mark Sanchez?! Report after the jump…

According to Ryan Wilson at EOF:

Now that Alex Smith is set to be the Chiefs’ starting quarterback, not only will the team let impending free agent Brady Quinn walk (which was in the plans all along), but the last quarterback the front office gave up a second-round pick to acquire, Matt Cassel, will likely be released. None of this is surprising; both Quinn and Cassel were mostly unimpressive during their stints in Kansas City and it’s customary to clean house with the arrival of a new head coach and general manager.

So here we are.

But neither Quinn or Cassel should have trouble latching on with a team. This is a quarterback-driven league, after all, and on top of that it’s a sellers market.

Given that, and the perpetual slurry of crazy that is the New York Jets, what we’re about to write is hardly shocking: according to ESPNNewYork.com’s Rich Cimini (by way of Chris Mortensen), the Jets could have interest in Quinn. But unlike Tim Tebow, where there never seemed to be a plan in place to highlight what he did well, there is some logic to the Quinn speculation.

New Jets quarterbacks coach David Lee is tight with Quinn, tutoring the former first-round pick at Peyton and Eli Manning’s passing camp during the 2011 lockout. And that experience prompted this observation from Lee.

“I’m going to tell you this right now: Brady Quinn has a stronger arm than both the Manning brothers,” he told the Denver Post in 2011. “No question. I worked them all out.”
