A story that seems to be ever-changing, sad nonetheless happened earlier today involving a Bronx family who now suffers after a tragic accident that ultimately led to a father being held in police custody, one son, 5, being sent to the hospital at the fault of his 11-year-old brother. The story reported by some news stations early this morning, gave details of a 5-year-old boy that was shot in the shoulder by his father. As details continued to emerge throughout the day, the story changed several time as a father allegedly attempted to cover any wrong doing that occurred between his two sons. After the accidental shooting, the father who was in another room at the time, reportedly put the two boys into his car and placed the gun into another vehicle before speeding off to the hospital. On the way to the hospital, the father was able to flag down police officers to help him and his sons.
In order to gain entry to the apartment where incident took place, the police had to remove a huge pit bull the father used for protection. Since the incident, police have seized the gun involved in the shooting and are investigating the vehicle that held the evidence for further details.
The 5-year-old is currently in intensive care as neighbors wish him well yet wonder how the kids gained access to the gun in the first place. The father is expected to face charges on several counts.
