This car may look like a family sedan, but believe me this car that has been literally years in the making is built for performance! The all new 2014 Chevy SS was finally revealed in person today at the Daytona speedweek. Part of the reason for debuting it there is because the Daytona 500 will have a new SS racing in it. It has been 17 years since Chevy last made the rear-wheel drive Impala. Chevy lovers and car enthusiasts alike have been itching for something similar since. The corvette is rear-wheel drive, but that is in a totally different category of rides. The 2014 Chevy SS may have disappointed some people as far as the look, but under the hood and other things that impact how it drives are getting nice reviews. Read more and see a bunch of pictures in the gallery after the jump.

Most family looking sedans do not have a powerful V8 engine that kicks out about 415HP and can go 0-60 in about 5 seconds. Also, this car has just about a 50/50 weight balance from front to back, which means it can handle curves like a sportscar, but still be comfortable enough to drive on a daily basis. The shiny 19 inch alloy rims make sure it stands out from other basic 4 door sedans. The car will go on sale late in 2013 with the price to be announced around that time. For you non parallel parking drivers out there, this is the first Chevy to offer the parking-assist option. The interior is all leather, with the very nice Head-Up display (HUD) which allows the driver to not have to take their eyes off the road to change anything from music volume to gps. With the bose 9 speaker system, I am sure people who get behind the wheel and feel the power will have the music on blast, so having the HUD is a nice extra.
