Among the newly reported seven deaths caused by Nemo, the blizzard is an 11-year-old boy who died in Boston. While the young boy sat inside a running car to keep warm as his father shoveled snow, he was overcome by carbon monoxide poisoning raising the storm’s death toll to seven.

Nemo, the blizzard not the fish, was a blizzard of epic porportions and slammed into the Northeast last night and early this morning reeking havoc. Those of us in parts of New York and New Jersey were lucky enough to only get a Nor’easter, but parts of New England, weren’t so lucky. Nemo dumped over two feet of snow in certain areas while knocking out power to some 650,000 customers. Nemo has also caused the death of at least five people due to the condition and that number may rise. Hopefully the death toll doesn’t rise and everyone gets power ASAP especially in these freezing conditions.
Nemo hit Connecticut,Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire hard last night and this morning dumping from two feet to 38 inches of snow in certain parts of the area. Wind speeds reached up to 82-mph in certain parts of the states causing thousands of down power lines and power outages. Nemo is responsible for five deaths thus far, three of them in Canada, one in New York, and one in Connecticut. A woman in Canada died after shoveling her snow while two men were killed due to car accidents. In New York and Connecticut, two deaths were reported after people were struck by vehicles. We’ll keep you updated throughout the day.
